Champions League tonight with Spanish representative Real Madrid playing away to AC Roma. The final result a 0 - 2 victory by Real Madrid that was constructed during the 2º half.
The first half was more AC Roma than Real Madrid with the best players being defenders Sergio Ramos & Varane. Saying this indicates that Real Madrid was defending more than attacking. AC Roma created numerous chances all the 1 half & the match & needed the intervention from all the Real Madrid defence with Real goalkeeper Navas playing his role.
However, the 2º half saw Real Madrid better in their play & a Cristiano Ronaldo "party piece" broken the equilibrium. His 57th min goal was an extraordinary shot after leaving behind his defender. From here Real Madrid continued being dangerous & creating their chances with the occasional Roma counter-attack.
The match sealer came from a cross shot from Real Madrid substitute Jese Rodriguez which found the net in the 85th min. A definite blow to Roma that puts the Spanish Football Club in the front seat of this qualifying tie with the return match in Madrid still to be played.
