LA LIGA ROUND 9 | SPANISH FOOTBALL

Took some quality time with the family in the countryside this weekend which hampered my Spanish Football Liga Round 9 viewing. However managed to catch two of tonights big matches which I´ll give the final results & the goalscorers.

FC Barcelona hosted Eibar & won 3 - 1 to give them 3 points & put them joint leaders with Real Madrid in the classification table. Eibar got ahead first through Borja in the 9th min, but it was going to be the night of Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan forward got himself a HAT-TRICK tonight with goals in the 20th, 47th & 84th min. The "incident" was the red card to Mascherano for apparently swearing at the referee, the Argentine may get a 4 week sanction.

Atletico de Madrid played Valencia CF & won 2 -1 . The 3 points puts Atletico in 3rd place on the classification Liga table just 2 points behind FC Barcelona & Real Madrid, while Valencia CF hoover in 9th place & will face another week of severe criticism back home. 

Poor defending by Valencia allowed Jackson Martinez to score the first goal for At. Madrid in the 31st min with Carrasco scoring the 2º in the 39th min. However, the 2º half saw Valencia attempt to turn things around & converted a penalty in the 71st min through Paco Alcacer which inspired his side & began complicating things for the home team. In the end Atletico held out for the win.
