Atletico de Madrid hosted fellow city Club Getafe to win 2 - 0. Atletico got off to a flying start with a goal from inform French forward Antoine Griezmann in the 4th min. However, the locals slowly fizzed out as Getafe began to take the upper hand giving some work to Atletico goalie Oblak before half time.
The second half did not start much better as Getafe frustrated the continuous attempts by At.Madrid to close the match. Coach Simeone began changing the line-ups (Martinez, Correa... put on) looking for fresh ideas, & the second goal came - you guessed it - again from Griezmann in the 90th min.
Three points to Atletico de Madrid with Griezmann on fire. Getafe tried hard & held out as much as they could.
RCD Espanyol hosted Valencia CF to later manage to win 1 - 0 thanks to the 19th min goal from Victor Alvarez. The match got rough with 11 yellow cards shown as Espanyol halted the advances & opportunities created from Valencia.
With the visitors & their Coach Nuno under pressure from their fanbase, Valencia became frustrated & desperate as the minutes went on & the looked for goal never arrived. In the end a loss that will be felt at Valencia & which will bring with it some bad fanbase backlash. Espanyol will be happy with their good effort & the three points.
Granada lost 0 - 3 to Real Sociedad which finally gets on the winning track. The star was Real Sociedad forward Agirretxe who scored a HAT-TRICK - 7th , 33rd & 79th min.
