LA LIGA | SPANISH FOOTBALL ROUND 3 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

Spanish Football action this weekend with Liga Round 3 in full force. Today 4 matches scheduled with the following final results along with all the goalscorers.

Spanish Liga 2015-2016

Levante hosted Sevilla FC in the Friday night Round 3 opener with a final 1 - 1 draw. The opening goal came through N´Zonzi in the 11th min for Sevilla FC with a long range shot, which was later equalized in the 57th min by Camarasa for Levante.

Both teams had chances to take the match but instead they shared points. Sevilla FC will be disappointed overall as they still have not found their groove & are suffering important injuries, while Levante will be OK with the draw but unhappy with their missed chances.

Spanish Football Liga 2015-2016

RCD Espanyol hosted Real Madrid & was run over losing 0 - 6. Everyone before the game was concerned about the goal drought being experienced by Cristiano Ronaldo, but the Portuguese star answered today with 5 goals, apart from assists. Overall the perfect game from the Real Madrid forward. Here are the goalscorers:
  • Cristiano Ronaldo (6')
  • Cristiano Ronaldo (penalty) (16')
  • Cristiano Ronaldo (19')
  • Karim Benzema (27')
  • Cristiano Ronaldo (61')
  • Cristiano Ronaldo (80')
As you can see Benzema also managed to score (from a Ronaldo pass), but Gareth Bale although not on the list was impressive assisting CR7 on a few occasions & causing the penalty.

Espanyol gambled early in packing the midfield which allowed spaces in their defence which Real Madrid exploited. When the home team reacted to their "mistake" it was all too late.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas was quite but made two outstanding saves (especially one in the 2º half from a direct header) that showed he is super sharp. Great match for Real Madrid that sets them up well for their upcoming Champions League Group opener early next week against Shaktnar Donetsk.

La Liga 2015

Real Sporting de Gijon hosted Valencia CF & were defeated in the last moment when Paco Alcacer scored the winner for Valencia CF in the 91st min. Valencia manages its first Liga victory this season after a complicated game against a well placed & spirited Gijon. The home side had their opportunities in front of goal but failed in being effective. Final result 0 - 1.

Atletico de Madrid - Fc Barcelona 2015 liga

Atletico de Madrid & FC Barcelona gave us the match of the Round with a 1 - 2 final result. Torres started for Atletico while Messi started on the bench, later both interchanged in the 2º half when things were delicate & balanced.

As with previous encounters very physical, tense & plenty of counter-attacks from "both" teams which took its toll physically on both sides which allowed the latter part of the match to become more open & with more spaces to play, that is, not so tactical.

Barça played the ball most of the game while Atletico waited in their half of the field with the former creating plenty of dangerous goal opportunities, including Luis Suarez hitting the bar in the 24th min.

Surviving the first 45 mins,  Atletico struck first through Fernando Torres who broke the Barça defence & took advantage of the indecision from goalie Ter Stegen to score in the 53rd min. However, it did not last long for the home side as Neymar converted a free-kick into the equalizer in the 55th min.

Things were very even at this stage of the match & Barça Coach Luis Enrique put on Messi for Ratikic, & the Argentine changed the course of the match. Lionel Messi put FC Barcelona ahead with the teams second in the 77th min with some magic ball play to score.  Atletico attempted to find the equalizer, creating chances through Jackson Martinez, but Barça held out to grab the earned victory.

Real Betis defeated Real Sociedad 1 - 0 thanks to the 42nd min goal from Ruben Castro.
