La Liga celebrated Round 27 Spanish Football action with the following games, final results & goalscorers.
Valencia CF played Deportivo A Coruña in the Friday Night match & won 2 - 0. Not an easy game for Valencia which only managed to open the can with a penalty that Parejo converted in the 60th min. Later in the 71st min Paco Alcacer scored the sealer. Another 3 points in the bag for Valencia CF.
Another slip by Atletico de Madrid away to RCD Espanyol after their 0 - 0 result. The shared points allows Valencia to hold the third spot of the Liga ladder as Atletico drop to fourth just a point behind. Two factors to note, the red card to Atletico de Madrid defender Miranda in the 47th min - ugly elbow to Espanyol player - & two incredible saves by Espanyol keeper Casilla keeping out Torres & Raul Garcia. Described all this, not taking away the merits achieved by Espanyol which did a great job & put in a fantastic effort.
Eibar lost 0 - 2 to FC Barcelona, & with the 3 points assures that Barça will be Liga leader going into next weeks "Clasico" against Real Madrid. Barça was relatively untroubled throughout the match with lapses not worth really noting. The two goals came from Lionel Messi - penalty in the 32nd min & 54th min - taking his personal tally this season to 32 goals & over taking Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo who has 30. FC Barcelona go in as favourites against Real Madrid in next weeks big head to head Liga clash.
Rayo Vallecano defeated Granada 3 - 1 with Bueno again protagonist with two goals. Granada got ahead first through Jhon Cordoba in the 8th min, but Rayo reacted later in the match with Bueno scoring twice - 65th & 75th min - with the third by Embarba in the 90th min.
Celta de Vigo lost 1 - 2 to Athletic Club Bilbao. Its the 4th win in a row for the Basque Club as they lift from a terrible season. The two goals for the visitors came from a doubtful penalty scored by Aduriz in the 17th min & by San Jose in the 32nd min. San Jose was later sent off (85th min) with Celta getting a goal in the 63nd through Larrivey.
