Atletico de Madrid hosted city rival Real Madrid in the big Saturday match. The final result was a 4 - 0 whitewash victory by At. Madrid over current Liga leaders Real Madrid. Complete & all-round match from the home side which dominated the game from start to finish. Real Madrid Coach Ancelotti said post match that it was the worst game that Real Madrid played since taking over the team. Sure there were three important players missing for Real Madrid: Ramos, James & Marcelo, but that was no excuse for there poor lacklustre performance which enabled Liga table follower FC Barcelona to put pressure back on closing the points gap, while At. Madrid maintains their Liga title objective on course.

Bottom placed Club Levante won three points & some needed confidence defeating Malaga FC 4 - 1. The protagonist was Levante forward Barral who scored three goals - 25th min, 36th min (pen) & 61st min (pen) - with the other goal came from Uche in the 74th min. The consolation goal for Malaga came through Juanmi 23rd min.
Villarreal won 2 - 0 Granada with goals from Musacchio in the 29th min & the second through Moreno in the 91st min. Villarreal keeps its options wide open & on course to attempt to finish the season in Euro table positions.
Two teams that need wins & points Real Sociedad & Celta de Vigo drew in their match 1 - 1. Real Sociedad got ahead first in the 8th min through Agirretxe, while later Nolito equalized for Celta with his 85th min goal.
