Mid-week Spanish Football Liga match tonight between Real Madrid & Sevilla FC. This match was postponed in December 2014 to allow Real Madrid to compete in the FIFA World Clubs Championship.
An important match for Real Madrid to win so as to maintain the 4 point gap between themselves & second placed on the Liga ladder FC Barcelona. Real Madrid managed a 2 - 1 victory over Sevilla FC tonight but it was costly with Sergio Ramos injured along with James Rodriguez, & Marcelo receiving a yellow card which will mean all 3 mentioned will miss next Saturdays big clash with Atletico de Madrid.
Sevilla FC will be disappointed as they put in a good match & perhaps deserved more. They hit the post & had Real Madrid on the back foot the latter part of the match. The two goals that Real Madrid scored were big mistakes by Sevilla virtually handing the ball over, with the second a Bacca give away. Of course, with Real Madrid you pay, & dearly with your mistakes & James Rodriguez headed the first goal in the 12th min & Jese Rodriguez nailed the second in the 37th min. Sevilla managed their goal in the 81st min through sub Aspas, & could have equalized if they were more on target. In the end a suffered & hard worked victory for Real Madrid with "collateral damage" of two important injuries & Marcelo to miss the next match.
The other news was Sevilla FC goalie Beto who was taken off & to hospital for observation. Mid first half, both Beto & Benzema collided in a goal opportunity that floored Beto. Lastest news is that he will spend the night in observation after receiving a heavy knock in the neck area.
Real Madrid has Atletico de Madrid in Liga next Saturday, with Atletico having the upper hand in past recent encounters.
