Disappointing performance from the English Club, in my opinion, which managed to "fix things" somewhat in the second half pulling back a goal after being totally overrun by FC Barcelona in the 1º st half. Manchester City missed Yaya Toure - suspended for this game - as they failed to halt the Barça attacks, was slow, lacked creativity & play-markers plus committed defensive errors.
FC Barcelona are not free of some criticism as they did suffer a "drop" in play during the second half, something to be weary off, as they failed to "kill off" Manchester City & allowed them to score, which leaves open the door for the return 2º leg match. Barça even failed a penalty in the 90th min when Messi had his shot stopped by Hart.
Thankfully Barça managed to do the work during their tremendous first 45 min with Luis Suarez on target twice.
Goals in the following order:
- Luis Suarez 16th min, 0 - 1
- Luis Suarez 30th min, 0 - 2
- Sergio Aguero 69th min, 1 - 2
FC Barcelona take to "Camp Nou" two valuable away goals & has advantage to take the tie. However, they also allowed Manchester City to finish alive tonight & this is a risk to keep in mind.
Tomorrow the other Spanish Football representative, Atletico de Madrid has their Champions League match.
