Surprise - or not - announcement this afternoon from Real Madrid & Spanish International Xabi Alonso. The 32 year old player & midfielder tweeted that he leaves the Spanish National Football Team.
One of Spains Best Midfielders says goodbye after 114 International games & 16 goals. His long career includes 2 European Nations Cups & the FIFA World Cup of 2010. Xabi Alonso debuted in 2003 at the age of 21 years & expressed today that one has to know when to exit & leave it behind. An open letter was also published in the Spanish Football Federation website where Alonso explains his reasons & gives thanks to everyone.
Spanish National Coach Vicent Del Bosque is expected to announce the list of players for the upcoming International Friendly against France & the Euro 2016 qualifier against Macedonia. Everyone is expecting big chances & new names - new blood - after the terrible performance of Spain in the last World Cup in Brazil.
