Spain has defeated Ecuador 0 - 2 in an International Friendly game played in Guayaquil ( Ecuador ). A game which had its dose of emotion as it served to also remember the recently died Ecuador International Football Player "Chucho" Christian Benitez.
The Spanish national Coach Vicente del Bosque must have thought if your going to travel half way around the World at least give most of the players a run, & that is what he did. Except for goalkeeper Reina everyone got a piece of the match tonight with debut from youngsters Tello, Koke & IƱigo Martinez, along with Thiago & Fernando Llorente getting back after a long absence.
Straight forward "affair" for Spain which dominated the game with Ecuador having a few chances that were settled by Spanish goalie Iker Casillas in the first half & by the Spanish defence all game long. The first goal for Spain came after hitting the "woodwork" twice from Alvaro Negredo in the 24th min with some fancy footwoork. The second came in the 62nd min from Cazorla.
Next International Friendly for Spain will be the 10th of September in Chile.
