FC BARCELONA TRANSFERS DAVID VILLA TO ATLETICO DE MADRID

It was mentioned yesterday here as a possibility, this afternoon it has been confirmed. FC Barcelona will transfer its Spanish International forward David Villa to Atletico de Madrid. The agreement is for 3 seasons with a salary of 7M€ per year for the striker. The transfer figure is speculated to be around 5-5.5M€ ( 2M€ this season, 2M€ following & 1.5 if Villa goes the third season ) with FC Barcelona keeping the 50% of a future transfer if it were to occur. 

This is a "bargain basement" deal for Atletico de Madrid which finds a World Class substitute for departed striker Falcao. David Villa had other more succulent offers from English Football but preferred to stay in Spain.

David Villa will play against Barça in the Spanish Super Cup in August & will also play Champions League Football with Atletico de Madrid. This way Villa can maintain the "pressure on" Spanish National Team Selector Del Bosque, as with more playing time & goals Villa wishes to secure his place in the Spanish World Cup squad for 2014.
