Second semi-final tonight of the UEFA Champions League with the 1 ºst leg match between Borussia Dortmund & Real Madrid. From the Spanish Football perspective "warning lights" after the 4-0 drubbing yesterday by Bayern Munich over FC Barcelona.
This stage of Champions League has the best teams in Europe & clear favourites just don´t exist. For the first time in a long while Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho has handed in the Real Madrid starting 11 line-up against Borussia Dortmund for tonight's semi-final. Unusual exercise after Mourinho was asked yesterday about Iker Casillas in the pre-Champions League press conference, to which he answered with the line-up.
Diego Lopez, Ramos, Varane, Pepe, Coentrao, Xabi Alonso, Khedira, Ozil, Di Maria, Cristiano Ronaldo & Gonzalo Higuain.
The only "in the air" naming is Di Maria, who has a personal situation which will make the player fly in today from Madrid. Depending on his "spirits" he will play or not. The Real Madrid player has had his wife give birth to a baby daughter which came to life 3 months premature. The situation seems stabilized but the situation is also delicate.
Regarding Borussia Dortmund, barring surprises, the starting 11 line-up against Real Madrid may look like the following:
Weindenfeller, Piszczek, Subotic, Huummels, Schmelzer, Gundogan, Bender, Kuba, Gotze, Reus & Lewandowski.
Worth the usual mention, these line-ups until released officially, are speculative.
