Previous to this game the Leverkusen Coach Dutt had commented that he had the strategy to halt Barça which now has become unfortunate as they received a historical negative scoreline result.

LIONEL MESSI scored a historical first as well, being the first player in Champions League to have put in 5 goals in one game. The Argentine put in an exhibition with goals in the 25th, 42nd, 49th, 58th & 84 th min. There is not much more to write up as it was Barça vs Barça with a demoralized German team falling apart as time went on.

Then in the 53rd min young Barça forward TELLO came on for Keita & found the goal scoring groove to put in two goals of his own. The first in the 55th min & the second in the 61st min. The youngster could have put in more had he been more decisive.
Bayern Leverkusen managed a consolation goal - & a fine goal at that - very late in the 90th min when BELLARABI scored after a nicely worked build-up. The Germans maybe wondering why they could´nt do this type of "foot work" earlier. Said this, it looked more like that the Bayern players were happy with the final whistle so that they could quickly forget about this terrible night of Football for them. Barça on the other hand send a very clear message to future rivals in the competition.
