CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - EUROPA LEAGUE QUARTER-SEMI DRAW MATCH-UPS

Today the Sports media has been taken over, Football wise, by the 2011-2012 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE & EUROPA LEAGUE quarter & semi final Club match-up draws. There was two Spanish Football Clubs in the Champions League team draw ceremony, while there was three Spanish Football Clubs for the Europa League match-ups.

REAL MADRID CF got the best option in the draw & match up. The Spanish Club meets Cyprus revelation team APOEL which,  with all due respects, is in theory the "weaker" Club of the draw. Said this, no side at this draw stage is easy meat & have proven that they are more than capable of a suprise. The games are played - away 27/03 & return 03/04.

FC BARCELONA on the otherhand was matched with a difficult opponent in Italian Club AC MILAN. In theory Barça should be ok, but they have already met twice this season & this has given the Italians some ideas & practice in finding ways to neutralize the current Champs. The games are played - away 28/03 & return 04/04.

In the EUROPA LEAGUE draw, ATLETICO DE MADRID was matched with Germans HANNOVER, while VALENCIA CF was matched with AZ. If  both mentioned Spanish Clubs manage to elimate their opponents in quarters, they will then meet in an all Spanish semi-final.

ATHLETIC CLUB BILBAO was matched with German team SCHALKE 04 with ex Real Madrid player & now Schalke forward RAUL returning to play Football on Spanish soil.

The playing dates are down for the away game on the 29th March & the return on the 5th of April.
