SPANISH FOOTBALL - LEAGUE ROUND 15 RESULTS SUNDAY NIGHT GAMES

SPANISH FOOTBALL continued with Round 15 this Sunday as part of the SPANISH LEAGUE. Below is a quick summary of all the games, the final results & all the scorers.

Falcao

ATLETICO DE MADRID managed to cosmetically better their image & earn more time for their Coach (Manzano) with a 3 - 1 victory over city rival RAYO VALLECANO. The scoreline is misleading as Rayo had the initiative, the game plan & the numerous chances to have gotten closer. However, Atletico had an inspired Falcao & Diego that made the difference.

The first goal came to Altletico early from a Falcao "party-trick" that GABI transformed via a lovely chip over the goalie in the 24th min. Things got tough for the locals & they had to work very hard until FALCAO managed a header into the net from a superb Diego play-pass in the 74th min. SALVIO managed the third for the home team & Rayo managed a consolation goal in the last moment via an own goal from Atletico player GABI.

Real Sociedad

REAL SOCIEDAD pulled the carpet from under the MALAGA feet in the last minutes with a 3-2 victory. Malaga will be kicking themselves all the way back home on the plane (or bus) as they had the game virtually in the bag.

Malaga defender DEMICHELIS gave Sociedad an own goal that must have been an omen in the 9th min. Malaga took control after that mishap & poured it on with a 19th min equalizer from RONDON & another in the 59th min from SEBAS FERNANDEZ.

It looked all clear sailing for Malaga until VELA equalized with the goal of the Round, an overhead kick that lifted the roof off the stadium. Then in the 92nd min IFRAN scored the winner to secure the home side the victory.

Osasuna 

Some story at OSASUNA which defeated REAL BETIS in the very last moment 2-1. The winner came via a 93rd min free-kick beauty from NEKOUNAM. Earlier his team-mate FLAÑO had put them ahead in the 38th min. Betis scored their equalizer in the 80th min via CASTRO but the team had suffered some bad luck all match. There was posts, the bar & Osasuna goalkeeper FERNANDEZ , who put in a "blinder",  stopped 4 chances that had Betis goal written on the ball.

The future of Betis Coach Pepe Mel is hanging on a wire tonight.   

At Bilbao celebrate goal

REAL MALLORCA finished their game with ATHLETIC CLUB BILBAO in a 1 - 1 draw. A worked game for both sides with "mistakes" leading to goals. The first to score was Mallorca via ALVARO in the 2 nd min & the equalizer came for Bilbao via AMOREBIETA in the 47th min.

GRANADA has defeated REAL ZARAGOZA 1 - 0 putting the latter last on the Spanish League classification table. The winner came in the 45th min for Granada via IGHALO. From here Granada dedicated the rest of the game defending their priceless goal until the end.
