SPANISH FOOTBALL action with all the four Champions League participating Clubs playing tonight in Round 8 of the SPANISH LEGAUE - LIGA. Plenty of action, controversy & of course goals , especially from Real Madrid & Barcelona.

| Gonzalo Higuain |
REAL MADRID defeated a brave REAL BETIS 4 - 1 which included another HAT TRICK from GONZALO HIGUAIN ( 46th, 69th & 72nd min) with KAKA scoring the other in the 54th min in grand fashion. Another highlight was CRISTIANO RONALDO who notched up his 100th game with Real Madrid, plus his great performance as "assistent" to Higuain in the first & Kaka in the second goal.
Real Betis started strong & actually dominated the first 25 min as they gave Real a run "for their money". They were brave as they never stayed back & always attempted the good play & attcking Football. Real missed chances in the first half but Betis was very dangerous.
The second half changed & it was all Real Madrid with positive glimpses of Betis. Real scored at the start & kept at it the rest of the 45 minutes. DI MARIA came on for Real Madrid ( sub Kaka) & assisted in the last two Higuaian goals, while Betis got their goal via MOLINA in the 68th min that opened up some hope, but Higuain shut that door a minute later with his goal. Real Madrid shut the door with a lock thereafter.

| Mallorca - Valencia CF |
REAL MALLORCA under new Coach Caparros drew , in the last minute via a controversial penalty that wasn´t, with a 1 - 1 final result against VALENCIA CF . Valencia CF dominated the whole game & scored via French defender RAMI in the 38th min. They had numerous chances that they did not convert then paid dearly when the referee called hand-ball in the last minute to award Mallorca a penalty. HEMED converted to score the penalty & give Mallorca the draw.
Tense end with Valencia complaining & verbally assaulting the referee with Rami sanctioned with a Red Card at the end of the game along with Valencia Coach Emery who received a yellow card.

| Villareal - Getafe |
VILLAREAL & GETAFE ended in a 0 - 0 draw. Both sides look mediocre & need to find a way to play better & be able to unlock their opponents. Said this, Villareal is the most worrying , as they look a shadow of the team they were last season. Very average game by both tonight.

| Lionel Messi |
FC BARCELONA had a relative easy "night at work" winning RACING DE SANTANDER 3 - 0. Apart from the great Barça play we have all become accustomed by now, Iniesta ( hit the post ) returned from injury & was outstanding combining perfectly with LIONEL MESSI who scored twice ( 11th & 63rd min). The other goal came via XAVI HERNANDEZ with a header from a Pedro pass in the 27th min.
The bad news for Barça was the injury ( again) to defender Gerard Pique. He will be later further examined & we will now to what extend of the injury tomorrow.

| Granada-At.Madrid Spanish League 2011 |
GRANADA played a good match drawing 0 - 0 & resisting the last moments pressure by ATLETICO DE MADRID. In fact, Granada let Atletico off the hook early when UCHE hit the post & that could have changed everything & possibly given the three points to Granada. However, after the initial scare Atletico played better, but still suffers in converting chances into goals. This & Granada goalkeeper ROBERTO who made two-three important saves left Atletico scoreless & frustrated as they are not "flowing" as they began the season. Granada will be happy, but Atletico are losing progressively their initial steam.
