It seemed it was destined to be the night of comebacks as we witnessed another with HERCULES winning REAL ZARAGOZA 2 -1. Zaragoza got off to a great start with a 4th min goal from BRAULIO & looked good throughout the whole match. However, Hercules had other plans & were finally reward for their "never give up " attitude with a 80th min goal by FARINOS & the winner from TREZEGUET in the 87th min. A match that gave fans value for money tonight at Hercules Alicante.

RCD ESPANYOL made REAL MADRID sweat blood & cry tears for the latters 0 - 1 victory. Real Madrid were down to 10 men in the 2nd min when IKER CASILLAS was given a red card for being the last man on a foul on an attacking Espanyol player. This changed radically the Real Madrid strategy & young ADAN came on for Casillas & Di Maria was the sacrificed player.
One would think that Real Madrid was behind the 8 ball & Espanyol was to run them over, but this was not the case & Real Madrid composed themselves to put in possibly one of the best performances tonight. The whole team rolled up their shirt sleeves & worked to keep at bay the waves of Espanyol attacks. Special mentions must be given to MARCELO who scored a "pearl" a goal in the 23rd min that was to finally be the winner. ADEBAYOR who was "miraculously" kept off the score-sheet on various occasions by an equally fabulous Espanyol keep KAMENI. CRISTIANO RONALDO who ran his legs off along with Ozil , Carvalho , Pepe & young Real Madrid goal keeper Adan. In conclusion , we saw a TEAM EFFORT that will only serve to create & inspire confidence, strength & gel the team further in coming weeks & months.
Espanyol were unlucky, they played a marvellous game & are an excellent team which will go a long way this season. But it was not their night however the "Football Gods" may have smiled on them in the 2 nd min. The opposition precisely found their inner strength when all the odds were against them.
Real Madrid manage to grab three points & close the gap with Barça to 5 points. This can only mean we have a Spanish League which is still open & alive plus plenty of weekend afternoon & nights that will fill us with Spanish Football passion. We still have LIGA!
