SPANISH FOOTBALL | SPANISH LEAGUE - LIGA 2010 -2011 | ROUND 15 | SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

Saturday night Round 15 Spanish League - La Liga action with three games & some eye lifting surprises. Here is a brief summary of the games, results & the scorers.

Almeria "knock out" Sevilla FC

Big surprise result at Sevilla with the local team going down
1 - 3 to lower table survivor  ALMERIA. SEVILLA FC confirmed their "downward spiral" as tonights match was one of their worst to date. This takes no merit away from Almeria who pulled together a magnificent night of Spanish Football from their part & picked up the much needed 3 points.

Almeria took the fruit of their 1ºst half work in the 48th min when VARGA scored & then PIATTI did a "double" in the 81st & 91st min. For Sevilla FC KANOUTE managed to put one in after various attempts in the 83rd min.

Bad night & terribe exhibition by Sevilla. Difficult week in the horizon for the Club.

Getafe scores the winner in the 88th min

Another surprise result with GETAFE winning VILLAREAL  1- 0 with a 88th min winner by ALBIN. The merit was greater knowing that Getafe was down to 10 men from the 41st min when defender Cata Diaz was shown the red card. Villareal claimed a penalty but they lost fair & square.

Getafe is slowly finding some form again & giving us surprises.

Sergio Aguero on fire against Deportivo

ATLETICO DE MADRID put a bad week behind them with a 2 - 0 victory over DEPORTIVO that could have been more. Apart from the win the note is young Atletico defender Dominguez got his place back & the defence looked much better & solid.

Things started with a penalty for Atletico in the 3rd min which FORLAN misssed. It looked like this would be a bad omen but SERGIO AGUERO broke mid way & ran straight to goal to score the first. A brilliant display of pace & skill that brought the roof down in the 7th min.
Diego Forlan again was to be unlucky in the 18th min when his brilliant long - range free-kick was stopped by Depor goalie which hit the post & did not go in by a miracle. Again SERGIO AGUERO came to the rescue with another great goal in the 35th min.

The 2ºhalf was nothing like the first for Atletico as they seemed to lose their compass bearing as Depor looked dangerous. However,  again Sergio Aguero lifted the team & sadly for the local fans missed two sitters towards the end of the game which could have given him his hat-trick & a greater result to Atletico.

Good calming win for Atletico which should settle the atmosphere at the Club after 10 rough days for everyone.
