RCD ESPANYOL keep up their winning run & stay undefeated at home after winning 1 - 0 REAL SPORTING DE GIJON. It was a "controversial" match as a clear penalty to Gijon was not called. Espanyol Captain LUIS GARCIA scored the winner in the 69th min to keep his team in Champions League positions on the classification table.
Sporting enters the relegation zone & their Coach Preciado is under fire. Tough times ahead for them as they need to find some wins.

GETAFE managed a much needed win & did so with a convincing 3 - 0 victory over MALLORCA. PEDRO RIOS scored twice in the 19th & 27th min & team-mate PAREJO got the third in the 78th min. Getafe Coach Michel gets some needed oxygen that keeps him in charge of the Madrid Club.

| Almeria - Zaragoza share the points |
Rough affair at ALMERIA who shared the points with REAL ZARAGOZA after a 1 - 1 draw result. Both teams are at the tail of the ladder, "nervous" & it showed with on the line play. Zaragoza got ahead in the 67th min via a penalty that GABI converted, which was followed soon by an equalizer by PIATTI in the 72nd min. Both remain at the bottom of the classification table!

| Rondon scored twice for Malaga |
MALAGA got back into a winning groove in a big way defeating RACING DE SANTANDER 4 - 1. Superb Football by Malaga with some excellent goals especially the first from ELISEU who volleyed a corner into the net in the 27th min. RECIO scored the home teams second in the 42 min in grand fashion & RONDON finished things scoring twice ( 52nd & 54th min) to ram home their superiority. Racing managed their only goal via ROSENBERG in the 45th min.
Racing Coach Portugal is under pressure & his future at the Club is clearly under threat.

| Nilmar scores for Villareal |
VILLAREAL defeated SEVILLA FC 1- 0 under controversial circumstances as Sevilla claimed a goal by Kanoute called off-side that was not. The only given goal was NILMAR in the 29th min who gave Villareal the 3 points & puts them nicely in third place of the Spanish League ladder. Sevilla are having a hard time getting back to the top form of past seasons & apart luck is not following them either.

Big result for REAL SOCIEDAD in the big "Basque Region" derby against ATHLETIC DE BILBAO with a 2 - 0 win. Four years had past without seeing the big regional clash as Real Sociedad spent that time in 2ยบ Division. Tonight they came back to send their local fans into a frenzy as they defeated their neighbours in a typically hard played out match.
XABI PRIETO put Real ahead in the 26th min via a penalty which he had to take twice & the second goal came via an own goal from Bilbao player SAN JOSE in the 49th min. Bilbao also suffred bad luck with a disallowed goal to Fernando Llorente which could have added some more spice to the game.
Tomorrow Round 14 finishes with the Monday Night games between Deportivo - Hercules.
