Fabulous night - for thoses whos team won - of Spanish Football with eight top games in Round 10 of the Spanish League - Liga. In there we had the Madrid "Derby" & lots of goals in the other games.

Carvalho scores Real Madrid´s 1ºst goal

REAL MADRID defeated 2 - 0 ATLETICO DE MADRID in the big & controversial Madrid "Derby" to retain top spot of the Spanish League ladder. Once again the 11 year dry spell for Atletico continues as Real Madrid played better & deserved the win. As with these types of games, there were penalties not seen on both sides & posts, plenty of them for both sides, but the Atletico fans will feel that they were unfairly treated by the referee.

Real Madrid did the demolition job in the first 30 mins with the first goal by defender CARVALHO in the 13th min & OZIL from a free-kick that was watched as the ball passed everyone into the net. 

Diego Forlan hits the post

The 2º half saw Atletico react & stop the haemorrhage as they played better with Tiago attempting to control the midfield & Reyes - best man for Atletico - being a danger man up front. But things swag back in the latter part of the 2º half to Real & Atletico goalie De Gea stopped some almost certain goals. The match ended rightly with a Real victory.

Messi scores against Getafe

FC BARCELONA won GETAFE 3 -1 in a "whitewash" over the Madrid team. Not much to add except clear Barça dominance with goals from LIONEL MESSI in the 22nd min, DAVID VILLA in the 33rd min & PEDRO in the 64th min. Barça defender Pique was sent off with a red card in the end with a penalty awarded for Getafe which MANU scored. 

Goal by Villareal

Another convincing job at VILLAREAL that defeated ATHLETIC DE BILBAO 4 - 1. It was Bilbao that looked good early with FERNANDO LLORENTE scoring in the 6th min, but then things turned towards the home side. Villareal then turned on their magic with goals from NILMAR (39th min), CAZORLA (45th min), ROSSI (84th min) & MONTERO (92nd min).

Novo scores for Gijon

ALMERIA & REAL SPORTING DE GIJON drew 1 - 1 with goals from CORONA for Almeria in the 15th min & NOVO in the 73rd for Gijon with the equalizer.

Zaragoza - Mallorca

High scoring game that saw REAL ZARAGOZA grab some much needed oxygen with an important win over REAL MALLORCA 3-2. Mallorca got infront first via WEBO in the 19th min, but LATIFA equalized latter in the 56th min. The game was a see-saw & Mallorca got ahead again via PEREIRA in the 60th min. However, things turned in Zaragoza´s favour with BERTOLO equalizing in the 84th min & a penalty to Zaragoza late that GABI scored to secure the 3 points.

Osasuna scores against Hercules

OSASUNA managed a much needed victory with a 3 - 0 scoreline over HERCULES. The goals came via MONREAL (40th min), LOLO (55th min) & VADOCZ (92nd min).

Deportivo player Riki scores against Levante

LEVANTE lost 1-2 to an improving DEPORTIVO who are slowly attempting to get out of their classification positional troubles. Deportivo played well & dominated with the opening goal arriving quickly via RIKI in the 10th min & latter via AYTHAMI in the 52nd min. The home side managed to pull from pride & JUANLU scored the consolation goal in the 72nd min.


Tomorrow - Monday night - a great match scheduled to end Round 10 with Sevilla FC playing Valencia CF. Tweet
