Latest news from South Africa on the SPANISH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM is that Coach Vicente Del Bosque will most likely repeating the starting 11 that played Portugal last Tuesday against Paraguay in the Saturday Quarter – Final. A debate has be opened on whether FERNANDO TORRES is up to his best level & tall FERNANDO LLORENTE has been suggested by media observers as a possible substitute, especially after his brilliant half hour of play last Tuesday against Portugal coming in as a substitute.
Said all this, Coach Del Bosque poured water over this kindling debate announcing that Fernando Torres is the Nº9 of the SPAIN WORLD CUP TEAM & will start against Paraguay. The Spanish National Team Coach is seeing how Torres is gaining form as he acquires minutes & praises his “unseen” work were he opens up the forward line taking the Central Defenders out of their position to allow the Spanish midfielders to make their incursions.In the other areas & positions, Coach Del Bosque is happy with the teams performance against Portugal & feels that Spain is improving with each game & will keep evolving onwards to regain its dominating touch – possession ball play that has worked so well for the current European Champions. The only "doubt" is Xabi Alonso who received a knock in the ankle last Tuesday that has been giving him some work, but looks good to overcome it in time.
