The outgoing FC BARCELONA President Joan Laporta confirmed with statements to Spanish media something that has been on the lips of everyone for weeks, that Spanish International forward DAVID VILLA is very close to becoming a Barça player for next season. The only obstacles are financial as VALENCIA CF prices Villa more than 45M€ & Barcelona nearer to 40M€; peanuts if you think about it, but important for Valencia who need every single cent.
Said this, the very latest news comes out of Cataluya Radio this afternoon that went further than Barça President Laporta this morning & actually gave exact details with some figures. According to them Valencia CF & FC Barcelona are practically in tune with a final transfer figure of around 50M€ which already includes "3M€ in concept of variables" – sound like a commission here to me! The salary for David Villa is speculated to be around 7M€ gross per season & the contract is for 4 years. The radio station finished their “exclusive” saying that David Villa could be called up for the routine medical exam this same Friday to speed up things for that same day & make the official announcement that Villa will be a FC Barcelona player next season.Note: It’s not over till the fat lady sings…remember last season :o) But this looks 99% folks, Friday will be the big day…I think :o)
