The Spanish League celebrated three games tonight as part of Round 33 in "La Liga" with the emotion returning to the final stretch of the League thanks to the result between RCD Espanyol - FC Barcelona

Big local derby between the two teams that represent the city of Barcelona. RCD ESPANYOL played host to FC BARCELONA & ended up with a 0-0 draw that gives them a valuable point, & in the case of Barça, a slip that allows their rivals Real Madrid to close the gap at the top of the calssification table to 4 points, & 1 point IF Madrid can manage to beat Valencia CF tomorrow.

Espanyol dominanted the first half & deserved to be rewarded for their efforts but they couldn´t take adavantage of their correctly placed tactical placement of "chocking" the Barça play makers in their own half.

The 2ºhalf saw Barça go down to 10 men after DANI ALVES received his second yellow card in the 61st min for dangerous play that handed a numerical advantage to the home team. But this seemed to spur on Barcelona to finally get their act together & begin to take control. Espanyol settled at this point for the draw, with Osavldo missing a "sitter" & they managed to keep at bay Barça until the end.

SEVILLA FC is back in its winning ways with their "stars" again back in form & scoring. The home team won comfortably 3-0 REAL SPORTING DE GIJON with goals from KANOUTE in the 7th min, LUIS FABIANO in the 53rd & CALA in the 84th min. Important win for Sevilla who hold onto - for now - the Champions League 4th classification table Euro place ahead of Mallorca who are "breathing down their necks".

VILLAREAL managed to win a game that complicated itself for them as time went on. The home team defeated an "unlucky" ATLETICO DE MADRID team 2-0 after the later allowed Villareal to score twice in the 1ºst half. GODIN put the home side ahead in the 22nd min & later ROSSI scored the second in the 43rd min.

The 2ºnd half was as if Atletico had risen from the dead & they controlled totally the match. However they fumbled & missed clear opportunities until SERGIO AGUERO gave some hope of a come back with his 64th min goal. But the possiblity of a draw disappeared as quickly as it came with more missed chances that take Atletico into a string of losses & Villareal in the opposite direction.
