Great European Football - Soccer - tonight in the 1º leg EUROPA LEAGUE Quarter Final clash between two Spanish teams: VALENCIA CF - ATLETICO DE MADRID. The game ended with superlatives being spoken as fantastic, emotional, end to end, immense & even "good ol footy" with a 2-2 draw result that could easily have been more, much more.
After watching the full 90 minutes one realized that the 1ºst half was just an appetizer with Valencia & Atletico missing numerous goal opportunities that could have had up a 4-3 scoreline in the first 45 mins. Both goalkeepers had something in this as Cesar for Valencia & De Gea for Atletico stopped some real "screamers". In fact, the latter had a grand match & is convincing everyone that the young 19 year old (De Gea) is heading for hugh things in Football.
It was the 2º half that was the give all its fruits with frantic & intense Football that gave 4 goals, while more were stopped from going in. One could write paragraphs in an attempt to describe the emotion, but SFS thinks that sticking on the 4 goal VIDEOS will do the job.
Atletico scored first via DIEGO FORLAN in the 58th min after a counter-attack lead by Aguero. Watch the below VIDEO:
That was later countered by Valencia who equalized in the 65th min with a "missle" shot from FERNANDES. Watch the below VIDEO to see this authentic "screamer":
The action did not stop, & Atletico again went ahead with their second in the 71st min with a ANTONIO LOPEZ header as seen in this VIDEO below:
But Valencia were not to be out done tonight & DAVID VILLA in the 81st min finally managed to get one in after numerous attempts from a Vicente pass to equalize for his team. Watch his goal in the below VIDEO:
Atletico de Madrid should be happy as they take back for the 2º leg match at home next week two away gaols. However, the Q/Final is still open, but one thing is for sure, we should look forward for another great game of Football (Soccer) & goals.
