The following is a story published by Spanish Sports daily “Marca” & thus can be either taken as news with substance or just sounding the market &/or ideas. It, s not the first or will it be the last time that “Marca” is/has be “used” as an instrument to send a message to some interested party; but allow SFS for this occasion to assume there is substance to this piece.
The news is that MANCHESTER CITY, smelling a possible fall-out with the Club & fans, has let known to REAL MADRID that they are willing to sign both GONZALO HIGUAIN & midfielder FERNANDO GAGO for 50M€. Apparently, Man. City Italian Coach Roberto Mancini has asked specifically for both players for next season.
Let us remember that Real Madrid had agreed to sell Gago to Manchester City at the end of the last “Winter Transfer Market” period for 18M€, but the approval of the English Club owner Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan did not arrive in time & thus the operation did not go through. As for Higuain, the Argentine forward is currently one of the teams lowest paid players – 1.6M€/season - & is now re-negotiating his contract with Real Madrid to better his salary to around 4M€. Two things here, or “Marca” is favouring the Higuain camp by sending a message to Madrid, or the Sports paper is giving a hand to Real Madrid to help with their negotiation tussle with the player. As cynical as it all sounds, we have seen many times some real Machiavellian dealings that should not surprise us at this stage.
Having said all this, Fernando Gago has a higher chance of leaving the Club - & possibly to Man. City – that Higuain. Stay tuned!

Man City is the richest football club in the world, we won't be shocked if Man City really make a bid to these two players. The transfer will come truth If Man City really able to make it through the Champion league next season (by finishing top four in English Premier league this season).
