REAL MADRID: BENFICA DAVID LUIZ A PRIORITY FOR 2010-2011?

Transfer rumours are beginning somewhat early in the year, one
is waking up to find the main Sports dailys with their covers splashed
with names connected to the big Clubs. The recent rumour is CESC
FABREGAS
with FC Barcelona, who by the way, his representative
Darren Dean has categorically dismissed the news of an agreement
with Barça saying its totally false. He would need to say this because
negotiations between Barça & his player are illegal under FIFA rules.

The other player now being speculated about is the 22 year old
BENFICA defender DAVID LUIZ who appears on the front cover of
local daily “AS” today as the next objective of REAL MADRID.

It is no secret that Real Madrid wish to secure the left-back position
with a true specialist, as Brazilian Marcelo is seen as being more useful
in a midfield position, plus the Brazilian has tactical lapses in the
defensive duties that create some doubts.

David Luiz is a talented left back, who can also play as a Central
Defender, he has a contract with Benfica until 2015 with a
release clause of 50M€. Real believes that this price can be negotiated
downward in a relative “easy” manner to a more accessible figure of
around 20M€. It is also said that Chelsea FC, FC Barcelona, AC Milán,
Manchester United & Valencia CF had asked about the player & his
current situation.

Said all this, SFS would ask for some caution & take the news for
what it is; pure speculation. As said at the beginning, we are waking
up with front covers of this type everyday & unusually intense & early
for this time of the year.
