ATHLETIC DE BILBAO drew 2-2 against 2ºDivision team RAYO
VALLECANO but were eliminated on aggregate. FERNANDO
LLORENTE scored first for Bilbao in the 41st min, but Rayo stood
firm in the "Lions den" to equalize via COLLANTES in the 72nd min.
Bilbao reacted quickly when JAVI MARTINEZ scored in the 75th min
but Rayo had a date with destiny when they equalized via EDU
in the 78th min. Bilbao eliminated 2-4 on aggregate

RCD ESPANYOL drew 1-1 in a "dirty match" (13 yellow cards) to be
eliminated by GETAFE. ROBERTO SOLDADO scored for Getafe in the
20th min & it was uphill for Espanyol. However, the home team
managed to get the equalizer via IVAN ALONSO in the 36th min.
Espanyol eliminated 1-3 on aggregate.
RACING DE SANTANDER did the job with a 4-1 victory over
2ºDivision side SALAMANCA to go into the next round. Goals
for Racing came via TCHITE with two (35th & 44th (p)min),
MURILLO in the 57th min & XISCO in the 76th. For Salamanca
PERICO managed their only goal in the 19th min. Racing
wins tie with a 4-1 aggregate.
The goal by A.KEITA for MALLORCA gave his side the 1-0
victory over VALLADOLID to put them into the next phase.
