REAL MADRID finally managed to score a goal via VAN DER VAART
in the 80th min, but were KNOCKED OUT on aggregate (1-4) by 2ºB
Division (3ºrd Division elsewhere) team ALCORCON.
Real Madrid hit posts & had chances but Alcorcon held tight in defence
with an excellent organized scheme & simply outwitted a "clue-less"
Madrid. The 80,000 crowd turned onto Coach Pellegrini & screamed
for his "head" as the team tried with heart but were totally
ineffective. The Real Madrid crowd gave Alcorcon a standing ovation.
Not much more to say really, Real Madrid won 1-0 but were
overshadowed by a lesser team on paper who has eliminated them.
Well done & congratulations to Alcorcon who deserve to qualify for
the next round. Real Madrid have not abandoned the rough waters
which will be rougher; thanks to the International Friendlies break
Caoch Pellegrini will be saved & allow the anger to subside
somewhat. We think!
ATLETICO DE MADRID hosted MARBELLA & did the job with a
6-0 victory to qualify. The man of the match was MAXI RODRIGUEZ
who scored 4 GOALS with the other two goals coming from JURADO
& S.PONGOLLE. A confidence boost & shot in the arm for a Club
which is going through the horrors; lets hope this is the beginning of
better things.
VALENCIA CF qualified after drawing 2-2 against ALCOYANO who
made an impressive 2ºhalf to push Valencia to the wire. MARCHENA
in the 4th min & ZIGIC in the 15th put Valencia ahead with their
goals. However, Alcoyano did a great last 50 minutes to score twice
& equalize via CURTO in the 39th & CARPIO in the 84th, but it
wasn´t enough. Valencia go through, JUST!
SEVILLA FC qualified with a 5-1 demolition job on CIUDAD DE LORQUI.
The powerful Sevilla attack was too strong with goals from NAVAS in
the 51st min, KANOUTE (p) in the 59th min, FABIANO in the 64th from
a free kick & JUAN CARLOS who scored twice in the 65th min & the
88th min. The consolation goal for Ciudad came from SANTAMARIA in
the 46th min. Sevilla very impressive.

FC BARCELONA put on a festival of goals after they managed to
wear down CULTURAL in the 2ºhalf when BOJAN scored in the
51st & then again in the 54th min. PEDRO continues his goal
scoring spree with another in the 63rd min, followed by MESSI
in the 64th min & XAVI in the 74th min. Final score 5-0 (7-0
on aggregate)
Barça will be "laughing" as their arch rivals Real Madrid go out of
the Spanish Cup in the most embarrising fashion ever imagined,
something completely the oppsite for FC Barcelona who "crushed"
