CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFIERS 2009-2010 TUESDAY GAME RESULTS: FC BARCELONA 1 - RUBIN KAZAN 2 & STUTTGART 1 - SEVILLA FC 3 (VIDEO GOALS)

Surprise, surprise as Russian Champion RUBIN KAZAN defeated FC
BARCELONA
at the “Camp Nou” 1-2 with organization, discipline,
counter-attack effectiveness & some luck in their Group F clash.

The Russians scored in the 2ºmin with a RYAZANTSEV (see VIDEO below)
missile that sent “shock-waves” through Barcelona & a message of what
was to come. From here The Russians organized themselves in defence
to accept & withstand the expected Barcelona onslaught in waves of
attacks from here onwards.

FC Barcelona managed to equalize early in the 2ºhalf with a great
goal from IBRAHIMOVIC in the 48th min (see VIDEO below) from a
Xavi pass the settled the Spaniards, but just.

However, the Russian kept to their total game plan & in a deadly
counter-attack KARADENIZ scored his teams second goal in the 73rd
min with a strong strike that rattled the stadium (see VIDEO below):

From here Barcelona tried everything & luck did play its part as
Ibrahimovic hit the post along with Toure, the shots at the Russian
goal swayed away & did not go it, plus the Rubin Kazan keeper played
his part. In fact the last 15 min of the game Barça had 70% of ball
possession but Rubin held out with "tooth & nails" to gain their well
earned victory over the current European Champions.

Barcelona tried but failed as their defence tonight highlighted some
uneasy signs. But the big worry now at Camp Barça is the drastic
drop of form with Leo Messi who since his return with the Argentine
National side has not been the same; worries here at Barça. The Group
now gets interesting as Barça MUST win its next match.

SEVILLA FC travelled to STUTTGART who needed to win in their
Group G match that finished with a 1-3 win to the Spaniards that
practically seals their place for the next phase. However, the Germans
started on-fire with up to 10 chances to score & latter paid the price
for not taking their chances.Stuttgart had Sevilla FC on the ropes until
the 22nd min when Sevilla defender SQUILLACI headed their opener
& from here things drastical turned in the Spaniards favour.

Sevilla took control & then in the 55th min NAVAS grabbed a
goalkeeping error to go two goals up. The Spaniards continued & put
in their 3ºrd in the 72th min again via SQUILLACI who headed
an offside goal that the referee did not see - unlucky for Stuttgart.

Then when least expected the Germans got back with a quick &
brilliant free-kick goal by ELSON that gave them wings & put
Sevilla on the defensive. The Germans attacked in waves but failed
to score, a highlight of their game all night. The Spaniards held out
& won this very important away match.
