CRISTIANO RONALDO HITS THEM AT 103 KM/HOUR

So you thought – as most – that the Zurich Goalkeeper made a meal
of CRISTIANO RONALDO´s second free- kick goal & the fourth for
Real Madrid in Tuesdays night Champions League game. What if I
were to tell you that the speed of the ball was registered at
103 Km/hour? What would you do if you suddenly found a
“wiggling” ball change course straight into your face?

This is what apparently happens with the latest version of the
“Champions League” match ball. Its particular characteristic is that
it wiggles through the air if you manage to give it enough power
& speed. This obviously gives the goalkeeper many a headache &
it changes its initial trajectory.

Apparently the Goalkeepers have been voicing their “worries” about
the ball for sometime, but it seems that UEFA prefers the spectacle
of the Sport over guaranteeing the pride of goalies. Finally,
it seems the record of the fastest free-kick is held by ROBERTO
CARLOS who notched up 122 km/hour against France.
