UEFA has nominated its candidates for the Champions League
2008-2009 Awards, a prize given to the Best player in each
given position according to the Coaches who’s team reached
the last 16 teams of the competition. The winners will be
known on the 27th of August coinciding with the Champions
League 2009-2010 Groups draw in Monaco.

Lionel Messi deserve to win the award, his performance was very crucial in winning three titles. But is it also difficult to ignore contribution of these other players
