Not every piece of news comes out of Spain only, SFS surfs the net
to read English, Italian media & when possible understand German
& French media. Here is an interview from “YouTube” with
LIVERPOOL FC Coach RAFAEL BENITEZ with his latest views on
XABI ALONSO & JAVIER MASCHERANO both on the agendas of
Real Madrid & FC Barcelona respectively. In colloquial terms; here´s
what comes straight out of the horse’s mouth! Listen...
If we are to totally accept his words, neither will be going anywhere
fast at this moment or next season. Do you (we) believe him?
Liverpool FC has – according to Spanish media (see below post)
lowered its transfer price from 48M€ to 35M€ for Xabi Alonso. Plus in
Xabi Alonso´s case (a SFS idea), as a LAST RESORT, he may
consider taking Liverpool FC to the FIFA &/or EUROPEAN UNION
Tribunal with solicitation of the “ARTICLE 17 – Players Transfer
Statute”. That is, a player who has served 3 years at a Club can
“break” his contract as long as HE pays the Club the remainder of
the money left of the contract. Here is an example in a very
crude form ( I am not a lawyer); if X signs for 5 years at 10$ per season,
after the 3rd year X can pay his Club 20$ (the remaining 2 years value)
& force negotiations elsewhere. This FIFA “article”, backed under the
European Union (EU) free circulation of capital laws, etc” can also
be applied to the Bayern Munich case with Franck Ribery, apart
from Xabi Alonso, both ( or any other player in Europe in a similar
situation) have been more than 3 years at their current Clubs.
As SFS has mentioned, it’s an option that SFS puts forward here
that exists & would be a last resort effort & "battle" with the entire
available legal arms disposable. An extremely costly & wearing
situation that needs initially a very determined player wishing to
leave at all cost his current Club & an interested other party - buying
Club - willing to risk breaking relations at all levels (Clubs, Uefa,
FIFA...) with the accompanying "backlash" to give its 100% support
to the player undertaking such complex legal & "outside the normal
circles" move.
Will this alternative ever become an option this summer in any
of the different cases that the transfer market has going at this
moment, including the names here exposed?
Stay tuned!
