DAVID VILLA: THE STORY & SITUATION WITH THE REAL MADRID TRANSFER SAGA

The operation has verbally sealed on both fronts. REAL MADRID &
DAVID VILLA agreed to a 5 year contract with a salary around 5M€ +
incentives for goals/titles. The Clubs had verbally sealed the
transfer agreement & VALENCIA CF accepted the 28M€ cash offer
plus Real player NEGREDO valued at 17M€ (28+15 = 43M€). However,
last Monday Valencia CF President Manuel Llorente went back on
his word & put up the excuse that another Club had offered more,
thus Valencia wished a higher figure. In fact, no one had made an
offer at all, & the name FC BARCELONA was introduced to put
someone in as a reason, give the latter an option of which they
latter studied & made an offer, & lastly shut the door on Real
Madrid (
source elmundo.es).

The truth is that Valencia CF wish to sale to anyone else except
Florentino Perez
& Real Madrid. The new Valencia CF President is
afraid” of the backlash the Valencia fan base & local media will
give him if they sell their Nº1 star. Historically both Valencia CF &
Real Madrid haven’t had good relations since player Mijatovic was
tempted to leave & was sold to Real 13 years ago that caused uproar.
Since then the now new Valencia President Llorente has halted other
Real Madrid offers as a Club Directive with past players Mendieta
& Ayala. The fact is that Valencia feels that they are not respected &
that Real Madrid – for them – is “arrogant; in the end this case is a
personal thing & has nothing to do with business. Apart from failing
on his “word”, Real Madrid sources sited by elmundo.es say that even
if Real Madrid offered 100M€ they would´nt accept it because it´s Real
Madrid.Obviously with this public knowledge, MANCHESTER UNITED,
CHELSEA FC & FC BARCELONA have come into the picture to see if
they can pick up the “left overs”.

DAVID VILLA who believed that the verbal agreements between
Clubs would be sealed was extremely disappointed & was sadden to
discover in South Africa that Valencia had gone back on their word.
The player has said privately & to Valencia CF that he wishes
to play next season with Real Madrid & that Valencia CF should
forget about him playing outside of Spain. Yesterday, the player sent
a “subtle” message to his Club during an interview with Spanish TV
after the Iraq Confederations Cup game, saying he has already made
his decision & that now it’s up to his representative to do his job. Most
interpret this as a sign that the player may “revolt” if the situation is
not unblocked & his representative is expected to meet Valencia CF
Directives today to attempt to change their minds.

In a nutshell, David Villa is not a Real Madrid player because Valencia
CF President holds a “personal” grudge towards Real & he is afraid of
the uproar from local fans. David Villa only wishes to go to Real
Madrid. Stay tuned for developments!

NOTE: According to Spanish TV “La Sexta” (click) the FC BARCELONA
offer was 50M€ but with a TRAP. It included not only VILLA but also
MATA
at the same price, plus the loan of defender Martin Caceres,
when Valencia needs forwards. Apparently, Valencia CF doesn’t
consider the Barça offer as being serious. Added to this FC
BARCELONA Economic Vice-President Joan Boix said to ONA FM (
click)
that Barça ONLY HAS 35M€ to make signings, plus what they can get
from selling players. This doesn’t give much serious weight to the
DAVID VILLA offer nor Barça´s publicly announced signing desires.

Striker,

I just want to applaud you for trying to bring to us the inside scoop. The dilemma with Villa-Madrid-Valencia. The entire craziness coming out of Barça and Madrid. I sometimes feel that the Spanish clubs disrespect and under appreciate the Spanish players who are the best in the world right now. The best team players, the best technical players and the professionals who play with heart and soul when respected. It really is a shame.

That said hopefully everything will work out for the best and the clubs will try and put the players and fans first instead of their egos.

On a separate note, shame the U-21s were not competitive this year. Very surprising.

The rumor is that U/21 Coach caro is having problems in the dressing room!

Thanks for the words Elisa!

Cheers
