SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA 2008/09 - ROUND 29 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

Yesterday six games were played of Round 29 ( see below post) & today the
other four have been in action with the following results, scorers & images.
























OSASUNA "jumped" out of the relegation zone with a decisive victory
over ATLETICO DE MADRID with the 2-4 scoreline. It was a terrible
game for Atletico who are in danger - real & viable - of not finishing in
Champions League positions & at this rate will not be in UEFA positions
either. If you are an Atletico fan it was frustrating & a huge deception
to watch todays game & a terrible defence that has been one of the big
problems all season

WALTER "The Rifle" PANDIANI ( above) scored twice , along with
VADOCZ & MASOUD. They deserved to win as Osasuna are fighting for
their 1ºst Division life.




















DIEGO FORLAN tried hard & is worthy of a mention, he scored for
Atletico & now has a total of 20 for the season. The second goal for
Atletico came from PABLO in the latter part of the game.
























Another team fighting not to fall into the 2ºDivision is ESPANYOL, who
although have it difficult to avoid the drop, managed to fight today &
won impressively 3-1 DEPORTIVO. Espanyol remain last, but hope
is hope & today was a confidence booster.

The goals came from ALONSO (above) in the 12th min, followed by
DE LA PEÑA (39th m) & the own goal from ZE CASRTRO. For
Deportivo their only goal came from LASSAD in the 42th min.
















VALENCIA CF players were not being paid in the last couple of months
due to the Clubs economic problems. This week that problem was solved
after refinancing & it had its effect. The team defeated 4-1 GETAFE as they
begin to chase Villareal for the 4th Champions League position - they are now
2 points behind Villareal.

Valencia put in a grand match will a members connecting well: Hernandez,
Silva, Moretti, Albiol, Mata...etc. Spanish International DAVID VILLA scored
twice ( 20th & 60th min) to take his personal tally to 21 goals for the season
that puts him 2ºnd behind FC Barcelona Samuel Eto´o who has 26 goals as
the Spanish League leading scorer. JUAN MATA scored in the 20th &
ALBIOL scored in 56th min. For Getafe CASQUERO scored their only goal
& the team are dangerously close to entering into the relegation zone!














REAL SPORTING hit the post via Bilic in the 7th min & it looked that they
were heading in the right direction...WRONG, they lost 0-2 to RACING DE
SANTANDER. Racing took its chances, Sporting did not.

Giant ZIGIC scored first in the 54th min & then COLSA scored his teams
