SAMUEL ETO´O ON COURSE FOR THE EUROPEAN GOLDEN BOOT 2008/09

The “Golden Boot” is the prize (award) given to the player who scores the
most goals from the Top European Leagues during the season. It is weighted
so as to take into account that not all Football Leagues in Europe are of the
same strength & not all goals have the same degree of difficulty. Therefore,
scoring a goal in Spain, Italy, England, Germany & France is worth 2 points,
while elsewhere they are worth 1, 5 points (eg Austria).

FC BARCELONA star striker SAMUEL ETO´O is currently leading the
race for the European “Golden Boot” with his 26 goals (x 2pts = 52 pts).
Behind him in second place is MARKO JANKO of Salzburg who plays in the
Austrian League with his 33 goals (x 1, 5 pts = 49, 5 pts), & third is the Spanish
International from Valencia Cf DAVID VILLA who has 21 goals
(x 2pts = 42 pts).

If Eto´o maintains his goalscoring rhythm ( 26 goals from 28 games) it is
almost certain that he will be awarded this prestigious Award. It is in his hands.
