CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2008/ 09 Q/FINAL 2º LEG RESULT: BAYERN MUNICH 1 - FC BARCELONA 1 (1-5)

FC BARCELONA goes into the semi-finals of the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
after drawing away in the 2º leg match of the Q/Final 1-1 (1-5 overall)
against BAYERN MUNICH. The Spanish side will now host the other winner
of the Q/Final played tonight, Chelsea FC, the 28th of April at Barcelona
in their 1ºst leg S/Final clash

Bayern Munich started strong & attempted all it could to score quickly, but

as time went by in the 1ºst half their efforts were dampened by Barça who

began its usually touch ball play that took the wind out of the Germans.
However, the French International for Bayern FRANCK RIBERY would´nt

give in & was a constant danger on his wing & gave the Barcelona defence
headaches all the first half, a half that finished 0-0.

The second half saw RIBERY continue were he left off & was awarded for

his efforts with a goal in the 47th min that put his team ahead. But this
only made Barcelona tighten further & took total control of the game with

absolute ball possesion that frustrated, tired & opened spaces in the German

half. Then in a brilliant play of combination Football...Iniesta, Eto´o, Xavi ...

to KEITA who smashed a "cracker" in the 74th min to equalize & sentence
the game & the Q/Final.

Bayern made a few more inoffensive attempts but Barça had it all under
control. The mentions for Barça tonight go out to Alves, Messi, Eto´o, Toure,
Abidal & Xavi, however SFS could mention the whole Barcelona team.

Huge mention to ANDRES INIESTA (below) who played were Henry
normally does & that position leaves him on the margin at times, but he got
himself into the center & into the match to dazzled everyone especially in the
2º half. Outstanding!

For Bayern a mention - apart of Ribery - goes out to Sosa, Demichelis &
Lucio. The whole team tried tonight but FC Barcelona are way more superior
in play & quality.
