FC BARCELONA go through to the Q/Finals of the Champions League
after defeating OLYMPIQUE DE LYON 5-2 (aggregate 6-3). The job
was all done in the first half with spectacular upfront play by Barça that
was absolute magic.

ATLETICO DE MADRID drew 0-0 away to OPORTO & were knocked
out on aggregate 2-2 with the Portugues away goals dominating. The
Spaniards only needed to score & they could´nt even manage that, as
Coach Abel Resino mysteriously decided to leave Diego Forlan on the
bench.

Atletico brought on Forlan in the second half to find the goal & Maniche
late ( another mystery) but Oporto frustrated all their attempts.
A disappointing end to the Champions League run for Atletico who will
now concentrate on the local League to ensure that they can participate
again next year. Something that at this point also looks a difficult
proposition.
