his two goals today ( 14th & 76th m) to take his tally to 309 goals as
far, & rising
The other good news is that HUNTELAAR started ( Robben out due
to injury) & scored his first goal with the Club in the 36th min. He
could have scored another however it was disallowed. The other
scorer was MARCELO in the 49th min who played as a winger, a
position not habitual but he showed good play today & it may
become his new position under Coach Juande Ramos.
Real Madrid cuts FC Barcelona´s lead by 10 points & puts in its 8th
straight win in a row.
MALLORCA grabbed a vital victory away to NUMANCIA 0-1
in its attempt to jump out of the relegation zone. The winning goal
came via ARDURIZ (see below) in the 21st min. However they
were extremely lucky as Numancia played better & hit the post
twice in the 2ºhalf
RACING got away with a 1-1 draw against VILLAREAL to saw a
brilliant Rossi captivate everyone with his fine play. The youngster
is maturing & is growing into a very fine Football player.
Racing got ahead via ZIGIC in the 24th min in a goal that was clearly
offside. Then CARZOLA grabbed the equalizer in the 42th min. The
2ºhalf was all Villareal that just could not get the winner.
ATHLETIC DE BILBAO managed to get a draw when TOQUERO
scored in the 51st min. Earlier RECREATIVO player AITOR put
his team ahead in the 32rd min. Final result 1-1 & just
Remarkable comeback by ALMERIA with just 9 men on the field.
VALLADOLID scored two goals via LEON (17th min) & GOITOM
(21st min) & had their team set for victory.
However, the 2ºhalf was amazing as Almeria began its comeback
via CRUSET in the 62th min, ULCHE in the 70th min ( later sent
off) & NEGREDO with the winner in the 79th min.
Final result: 3-2
ESPANYOL are sank, as they sit at the bottom of the table with their
defeat against SEVILLA FC 0-2.
Espanyol held out well & even missed chances that proved costly later,
but the sending off of Lola put them in disadvantage with 10 men & they
paid for it dearly.
Sevilla via KANOUTE scored twice in the 83rd & 92nd min, to put Espanyol
looking at the abyss of 2º Division.
ATLETICO DE MADRID stumbled again & allowed GETAFE to
draw in the last moments for a 1-1 result
It looked fine when DIEGO FORLAN scored & put Atletico ahead in the
33rd min. But that was all, as Getafe slowly began to grind itself into the
game & put Atletico against the ropes.
In fact, Getafe missed a penalty in the 80th min but ALBIN who failed
made up eight minutes later to equalize for Getafe.
The old doubts return to Atletico, & they remain in 6th place tied with
Malaga on points who is 7th. The priority for Atletico is to finish in the
