RAUL GONZALEZ BLANCO SURPASSES DI STEFANO & MAKES REAL MADRID GOAL HISTORY

In yesterdays Real Madrid 4-0 win over Real Sporting de Gijón, the Real
Madrid Captain scored two goals in a great afternoon for RAUL
GONZALEZ BLANCO
. In fact, you may have calculated that he takes
his personal goal tally to 11 goals for the season in “La Liga”, not a bad
figure in anyone language. But if someone had told you that his first goal
yesterday made him historical Club legend & that the second was just the
answer to the question what new figure will the next record mark be, you
may have wondered, what record & what mark are we talking about?

Raul took his all time personal goal tally for REAL MADRID to 309
goals
yesterday, & in the process overtook what was until then the all time
record for Real Madrid by the World Football legend & Argentine
ALFREDO DI STEFANO with his 307 goals. An extraordinary feat in
anyone’s language considering that Di Stefano is considered the “Best”
number 9 of all time & that Raul plays as a number 7, that is, he is not a
natural centre forward.

(Raul´s first ever goal for Real Madrid - against Atletico)

The 31 year old started his career with the first team as a young 17 year
old way back in 1994, the 29th of October to be more precise against
Zaragoza with Jorge Valdano as the team Coach. Since his first ever
goal for Real Madrid against Atlético a week later he has notched up
309 goals:

218 Ligas goals
7 Spanish SuperCup goals
2 World Clubs Championships (Toyota Cup) goals

18 Spanish Cup goals
64 Champions Leagues goals

(Raul celebrating one of his three Champions League title)

If we include is 44 goals with the Spanish National side we observe a
genuine goal area “killer” with a high efficiency rate. Numbers that
speak for themselves & leave little margen for debate or doubt concerning
Raul & his unique Curriculum.

Raul was happy yesterday. While many wish to retire the player before
his time, he keeps on keeping on & scoring his goals. He made comments
that he wishes to continue playing, thus the answer to the question, what
will be the new Club record mark?It will be difficult to predict. What
can be said however is that it’s going to take another 50 years or more
before that record of the highest goalscorer in Real Madrid history gets
overtaken again.

(Raul Nº7)
