The REAL MADRID President Calderon is having a very awkward time
at this moment as he is heavily under fire with a series of accusations that
border on the illegal, if not totally illegal. Mr. Calderon is being accused of
diverting funds, falsification of votes, inflating commissions & other
serious acts that have the Club & all the Presidents men working to defend,
deflect & limit the potential damage. Added to this, the shadow of ex-President
Florentino Perez hangs & looms over the Club as the rumour is that Perez
wishes to make a heroic comeback. Spanish Sports paper “Marca” has
put on today’s front page the title “Calderon Robs the Assembly”, making
voice to speculation that Calderon falsified members to gain votes during its
new year budget reunion that needed to be approved by Club members.
Serious stuff that SFS places here in order to explain, or at least find a
possible link to the main story of this post, that by the way interesting
enough comes from the other main Sporting daily & competitor “AS”.
(Todays Marca cover)
The latter publish today that against all statements made from Manchester
United &/or CRISTIANO RONALDO, they have evidence that there is in
fact a “secret verbal pact” between REAL MADRID & Cristiano Ronaldo.
The difference here is that it is not with ex-Real President Florentino Perez,
but with current President Calderon & it’s for NEXT season not for 2010.
The daily “AS” go even further & publish figures in the operation which are
12M€/year for Ronaldo, 8M€ in commissions for representative Jorge Mendes
& 85M€ in transfer fee that could go as high as 115M€ with incentives.
Now all this maybe a “smoke screen” to deviate attention away from the
serious accusations being made to President Calderon. The promise of
Cristiano Ronaldo for NEXT season may soften the potential blows the
Real Madrid members & fans could pour upon the current Real Madrid
Directives if all the accusations are true.
Having said all this, there exists the real possibility that the “secret pact”
that has been talked about in England (via Daily Mail & The Times) &
locally has a true solid basis. There is a Spanish saying that may apply
(may lose in translation) …” if the river sounds there must be water”. In
the Cristiano Ronaldo saga there is a lot of sound.Whether it’s getting
mixed up in Club politics or not is another matter, but things are not
going to stop & speculations will continue to be splashed on front pages.
Every time this continues, more weight it all has that it is must be more than
just speculation or rumours. Stay tuned!
