EUROPEAN U/21 CHAMPIONSHIPS: SPAIN 3 - POLAND 0

SPAIN needed to win tonight against POLAND in order to keep up
with Group 4 leader Russia, & it did winning 3-0 & placing itself
equal Group leader with the Russians.
The struggle is to ensure the direct qualification for the 2009
European U/21 Championships in Sweden.














Poland were a worthy side & played well matching the Spaniards on
their home turf until an unfortunate own goal by GLIK in the 40min
put the Spanairds ahead. However, the Poles continued to attempt
to equalized but were finally bulldozed in the final moments with 2º quick

goals by FC Barcelona star BOJAN in the 93rd min & Sevilla FC
youngster CAPEL a min later.
