it's well known Rm have been looking at this player for a while now. It's more likely that his price has gone up because of his excellent champions league performance against us
Last season he was named Best Player of the German league. That alone justifies a raise in price. If he repeats performance this season, the price will raise again. And we would forget his false European start at Oporto.
Incidentally, I am sure 40 mill is way over the odds, but this guy might be a better waste of money than Kaka
if he's 40m why not just buy Samir Nasri instead. he's more versatile and younger
