BASKETBALL: RUSSIA DEFEATS SPAIN 59-60 TO TAKE THE EURO CHAMPIONSHIP

It could not be, SPAIN lost to RUSSIA by 1 point ( 59-60) to see
Russia proclaim itself the European Champion.
Spain was the better team in "theory" & lost the game thanks to
inaccurate shooting & a too aggressive offensive strategy that lead
to more mistakes. The Russians remained clam & played at its
rhythm until HOLDEN with 2 seconds left put the ball into the ring
to take the score 59-60. Spain had 2 seconds left & one chance only,
that was taken by GASOL who shot & the ball just would not go in,
victory to Russia.

The MVP was given to KIRILENKO to put the cream on the cake
for the Russian side

As the saying goes,... "thats Basketball" & Spain should be proud of
its outstanding performance throughout the whole tournament. Spain
has a fantastic outfit that will give their country plenty of golden
moments in the future. However, tonight & in this game it was
for Russia, & congratulations for their very fine performance, victory
& European Title.
