Czech Rep (Brno circuit) with victories for Spaniards FAUBEL
in 125cc, JORGE LORENZO in 250cc & Australian Casey Stoner
in GP.
The 125cc catagory saw a great race till the end,were any of the top
4 placed riders could have won, but in the last stretch Spaniard
HECTOR FAUBEL grabbed the victory & expand his lead in the points
table.
Final places: 1.H.Faubel (Sp); 2.M.Pasini (Ita); 3. L.Pesek (REP)
This win gave Faubel the honour of giving Spain its 300th win in GP
competition, going Italy & UK.
World Championship provisional table:
1.Faubel 179pts; 2. Talmacsi 169pts & 3. Pesek 129pts
The 250cc catagory saw JORGE LORENZO dominate & win his race
expanding his lead in the World Championship table. The race was
marred by a terrible accident, when Japenes rider TAKO SEKIGUCHI
rammed into the floored bike of Italian SIMONCELLI ( who fell just
before ) & flew over to crash into the ground at a high pace. Here is the
VIDEO of the incident:
Tako broke a few ribs & a his pelvis, managing to lucky escape further
damage. SFS wishes Tako a quick recovery.
Final places: 1. J.Lorenzo (Sp) ; 2. A. Dovizioso (Ita), 3. M. Kalio (Fin).
World Championship provisional table:
1.Lorenzo 216pts; 2.Dovizioso 186pts; 3. D.Angelis 176pts...other Spaniards
4. A.Bautista 127pts & 5. H .Barberá 103pts
In the GP catagory it was a CASEY STONER whitewash as he
won with ease & consolidates his place towards the World title.
His rivals, specially Rossi who finished 7th, could only watch as
the Ducati got further ahead at every lap. There´s a real "tyre
debate" at the moment between Michelin (Rossi, Pedrosa, Hayden) &
Bridgestone ( Casey...), & that Michelin riders are being hurt by
their tyre selection. SFS leaves this debate to the more "expert"
readers amongst us.
