CADIZ 1 - REAL MADRID 3. REAL GRAB 3º SPOT IN "RAMON CARRANZA TROPHY"

CADIZ & REAL MADRID have played for the 3º & 4º place of the
"Ramon Carranza Trophy", after both lost their inicial matches to
Real Zaragoza & Real Betis respectively & who will meet each other
in tonights final.
The end result: Cadiz 1 - Real Madrid 3, with Real giving a run to
its other players & experimenting with different positions &
combinations.
Don´t let the final score fool you, Real Madrid have a lot of work ahead
if they are to stop its fans from worrying about their team´s current play.

Real Madrid began well early with a goal from SOLDADO in the 12th
min. The rest of the 1º half saw a bettered team with plenty of goal
chances, but could´nt find the net.
The 2º half saw Real begin its rotations of players ( give everyone a run
on the field) & saw the midfield & defence lose placement, thus leading to
Cadiz equalizing via ENRIQUE. From then onwards Real fell into its bad
habits, & thanks to a play-on header from Real defender Metzelder,
VAN NISTELROOY pushed the loose ball for the 2º goal in the 74 min.

The last goal came after Cadiz player Medina & Real´s Diarra received RED
Cards after fighting broke out between Medina & Pepe ( Pepe was floored)
& Diarra came to Pepe´s "rescue". The confusion allowed BALBOA to later
cross
a ball that received a defenders deflection to beat his own keeper.
The final score 1-3 to Real & a 3º place.

As they say, its always good to win. But Real need to better a whole lot more.

hmm... interesting that the article you read did not mention that during the game Pepe spat in the face of one of the Cadiz team and this is the likely reason why fighting broke out ten minutes later.
Also Pepe was the one who failed to stop the dribble into the box to allow Cadiz the goal.

Personally, I think Real should take the matter up and punish Pepe for the spitting incident - a clear message should be sent to him that this isn't the way Rm players behave.

If Pepe continues to play badly AND behaves like scum, he's not going to get my vote of confidence as a Real Madrid fan.

Besides I thought Metzelder looked excellent, although he wouldn't go amis in the Real Madrid basket ball team either

Yeh saw it. But one action does not justify the other...its all bad & should be stripped from football. Good point evo.
