Good picks Striker!
G'day
I'm a big Barca fan living in Sydney, Australia and I reckon your site is great. It's the only way I get quick up to date info on La Liga. Cheers for that.
But as much as I agree with everyone else on your list, and as much as I love Dinho, I'd have to disagree with his selection.
He was definitely a shadow of himself this season - and pretty much since last year's World Cup.
That's not to say he's no longer one of the best, because I'm sure he'll get back there. But for the 06/07 season, I could've probably named 3 or 4 others more deserving.
Anyway - good stuff mate and keep up the good work :)
Point taken, as you now its always a subjective thing, this of choosing the best 11
Cheers
wait a minute guys where is jesus navas??? palop ?? and there is a lot missing !! messi and ronaldinho plays as fowards guy not midfielders!!! look now they are calling the quartet
! with henry!! :D
Striker,
are your selections based on performance or who you consider to be best players?
I for one would have Eto'o over Kanoute any day. I'm surprized you didn't pick Torres.
Way to be, Striker: it takes balls to name your top 11. I was personally thrilled to see that you included Sergio Ramos, I feel he's often overlooked. I kind of agree on the Ronaldinho thing - that he was in relatively poor form this season - but then again 21 goals in La Liga ain't bad.
And just ou of curiosity, are you keeping track of Copa America at all? Hopefully Robinho will make your list next year. Thanks again for all the updates and info!
oops-
I just read your entry about Robinho for Cesc, in which you mention his performance in the the Copa America. (Seeing the Marca cover momentarily stopped my heart and sent me into a tailspin of depression: so no, no Madrid, don't let Robinho go.)
In my opinion, I miss Iniesta and Ayala in this selection, but overall I'm quite agree
