SPAIN LOSE ON PENALTIES IN U/20 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS Q/FINAL

SPAIN lost to the CZECH REP, on penalties in this morning´s
Q/Final clash of the U/20 World Championships being held
in Canada.
Spain played better than the Czech´s, but the latter used the
"Italian strategy" & played anti-football hoping to clinch the game

in a given opportunity.

After 90 mins, the game went into extra-time & the Czech´s got their
opportunity with a goal from KALONDA ( 103min), but Spain reacted
& scored the equalizer via MATA ( 110min). From here the Czech halted
the game to await & risk it all in the penalties - final score after extra-time
1-1

As with all penalty situations, its a lottery & the Czech´s controlled
better their nerves & situation. The Czech´s transformed all their
penalty takes, while Spain missed 2 via Marc Vicente ( hit the bar) &
Pique ( above, straight to the keeper).
