top game, were one must recognize that the latter deserved
to win. However, without taking away any of the merit & the
excellent performance of the Spaniards.
The 2º leg clash started with a 1-1 aggregate & Valencia began
strong in the 1º half. One can say that the 1º half was theirs with
MORIENTES scoring in the 32m to put Valencia in front & in the
driving seat ( seen celebrating below).
However the 2º half was totally different. Chelsea pulled one back
to draw via SHEVCHENKO ( below) & this set the nerves through
the Spanish side.
Waves & waves of English attacks were bravely stopped by
AYALA, with MIGUEL trying hard to push forward.
Chelsea was literally steam-rolling Valencia & when it looked
like it would end in a 1-1 draw & go into extra-time, ESSIEN
(below) who was playing well, riffled a shot passed Canizares
& into the net: 1-2 in the 90m.
This was an authentic hammer for the Spaniards & with 2mts
left, the English team held the ball to qualify for the semi-finals
of the European Cup.
As the saying goes..."the better team won"...& Chelsea certainly
was the better team. Good luck for the rest of the competition.

Yo escuchaba el partido atraves de radio marca marca.es anoche y joder! último minuto :S
una noche jodida por 2 cosas.
1. el partido de roma en la tele y

-I watched the second half of the Valencia match (I flicked over after watching United play so beautifully) and I thought that Valencia were very, very poor. They couldn't get or pass the ball! I know they were missing some important players but I was still disappointed with them. Joder is right!
Valencia were steamrolled , but unluck with Morientes hitting the post.
Stoichkov...difficult task, but were there is hope...
