Pablo Hernandez , big day with Valencia CF

Nice game between REAL MALLORCA & VALENCIA CF with the visitors winning 1 - 2 & cementing their current third place on the Spanish Football League ladder. The Mallorca ground hasn´t been historically a good hunting area for Valencia & it looked like it would continue this way when RAMIS put Mallorca ahead via a penalty in the 31st min. However, Valencia had other ideas, especially PABLO HERNANDEZ who scored the equalizer a minute later 32nd min & the second - & the winner - in the 56th min.

Xavi Hernandez for FC Barcelona

FC BARCELONA keep doing their job correctly after defeating REAL ZARAGOZA 1 - 0 & opening the points gap to 10 points with Real Madrid. This puts pressure on Real Madrid to win their game tomorrow against Racing & without Cristiano Ronaldo.

In fact the score line could have been much greater had Barça taken its chances & the Zaragoza defence / goalkeeper weren´t so intent on stopping them. FC Barcelona managed to break through in the 43rd min via KEITA with a lovely goal. Real Zaragoza then gave a few scares to a Barça side not able to finish them off & gave them hopes that lucky for the home side didn´t eventuate.

Reyes scores for Atletico de Madrid

ATLETICO DE MADRID has a "SeeSaw" "double personality" with its Football. Tonight they put in an admirable performance against top side VILLAREAL winning 3 - 1 with a brilliant second half.

The first to open was Atletico de Madrid will a "blinder" from 30 mts that included a curve power drive by JOSE ANTONIO REYES in the 5th min & who was fantastic all night on the ground. Villareal equalized with a majestic & fabulous free-kick from ROSSI in the 34th min. The truth is we were blessed with very artistic goals throughout this match.

Diego Forlan scores for Atletico de Madrid

The second half was another matter, it was virtually all Atletico with plenty of opportunities & a "giant"  Atletico de Madrid goalkeeper DAVID DE GEA stopping things when Villareal did manage to break the Atletico defence. It was SERGIO AGUERO who "chipped" the goalie in the 68th min that put the locales ahead again, then DIEGO FORLAN finally got onto a score-sheet with his quick witted 72nd min goal. Atletico could have scored more but Villareal goalkeeper Diego Lopez was sharp & lessened the possible damage.

A well deserved victory & a night of joy for all the "suffering" Atletico fans of late.
