SPANISH FOOTBALL FLASHBACK | SPAIN WINS THE FIFA 2010 WORLD CUP A YEAR AGO

Spanish Football
Today is exactly 1 year ago when SPANISH FOOTBALL reached its highest level in World Football & Sports history, recognition, prestige & winning its first ever FIFA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. The SPAIN FOOTBALL NATIONAL TEAM defeated 1 - 0 HOLLAND in the FIFA WORLD CUP Final in SOUTH AFRICA thanks to the ANDRES INIESTA extra-time (116 min) goal the 11th of June 2010.

Spain today via all its Sports media is celebrating this first year anniversary , & the full year that the Spanish Football Team has been wearing that World Champions star on its shirt. To remember last years South African World Cup competition along with the various qualifying games & Spain's victory to claim the World Title, this video help will bring back some marvellous memories & strong emotions.

Already a year & how time flys. Here is a tribute to that wonderful historical Spanish team & players who are still doing things right.

SPANISH FOOTBALL PLAYER & WORLD CUP HERO ANDRES INIESTA HAS A SONG ( VARIOUS...)

Spanish International Football Player ANDRES INIESTA has become a national hero after scoring the winning goal for Spain in the Final of the 2010 World Cup against Holland. Apart from being one – if not – one of the best players in the World his humble personality has won fans from all sides of life. So mucho so that songs are springing up about Iniesta from all sorts of local artists to pay tribute & why not, take advantage of his star status to get some publicity back on top.

Barcelona electro-group “Delafé y Las Flores Azules” has this song about Iniesta called “Iniesta De Mi Vida” ( Iniesta My Life ), words shouted out by ex Real Madrid Champion player, Real Madrid Coach , ex – National Selector , current Osasuna Coach & TV commentator Jose Camacho. The video shows images of the village from where Iniesta grew up – Fuentealbilla – along with his goal & Camacho in full ecstasy …

The electro-outfit sends the message ..."Iniesta deserves the FIFA Golden Ball..."

What do you think of the track?

SPAIN FOOTBALL TEAM PLAYERS | WORLD CUP 2010 | XABI ALONSO GIVES A SCARE

The SPANISH FOOTBALL TEAM is busy training & preparing themselves for their opening game of Group H against Switzerland next Wednesday. The SPAIN WORLD CUP TEAM is based in the South African town of Potchefstroom & in their training session of today gave us all a slight scare when XABI ALONSO retired from training half way through the session.

Spain has currently "under care" another vital piece of the playing team ANDRES INIESTA with a thigh muscle strain & the image of the Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso walking off sent alarm – bells throughout the Spanish Camp. Lastest news tells us that it is just an overworked & tired leg muscle & that Xabi left the training session for purely precautionary reasons. It was all just a scare & the midfielder should be back training soon.

Lets not forget that many of the SPANISH SOCCER WORLD CUP TEAM players come into the World Cup competition after a long season were most have played more than 70 – 80 games up to this point. Without rest, it is not surprising that muscle strains & tiredness are affecting some players at this stage.

Lastly, as a further piece of news, Spanish midfielder DAVID SILVA in a press conference warned against “over-confidence” & called for a “feet on the ground approach” as media are heating things up placing the SPANISH FOOTBALL TEAM as the hot favourites. Spanish International Silva wishes to dampen the atmosphere as the “favourite” tag could be more counter-productive than an advantage.

WORLD CUP 2010 NEWS | SPANISH FOOTBALL TEAM IN SOUTH AFRICA | ANDRES INIESTA AN INJURY WORRY

The SPANISH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM was the last WORLD CUP SQUAD to arrive at South Africa today as the FIFA WORLD CUP kicked off with two Group A matches. The SPAIN FOOTBALL TEAM flew over safely & now awaits its first Group H game against Switzerland on the 16th of June.

The only apparent worry from a tactical team angle & player concern is midfielder ANDRES INIESTA who trained apart from the main group as he is carrying a very slight back thigh muscle strain that could force the FC Barcelona player to miss the opening game. Andres Iniesta has been “troubled” all season with various injuries that makes him a delicate player that needs some special treatment apart from his team-mates. Andres Iniesta is considered one of the Best midfielders in the World & his presence for Spain is fundamental in their attempt to win the World Cup. The Spanish National Coach Vicente del Bosque would rather put on another player – Pedro, Cesc or Jesus Navas – instead of risking the chance of a badly healed injury that may go to worst if Iniesta is force on too early in his recovery. With Iniesta Spain does not want to risk.

Apart from the Iniesta concern, the Spanish World Cup Squad is fine.

SPAIN WORLD CUP TEAM | THE FC BARCELONA CONNECTION

This is a curiosity, definitely a fact & information for the reader about the current SPAIN 2010 WORLD CUP TEAM. The below photo illustrates 8 players that are part of the current SPANISH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM: Pique, Valdes, Xavi, Villa, Puyol, Busquets, Iniesta & Pedro. All except goalkeeper Valdes would normally start in the SPAIN starting line-up or get a run during the course of a game. What do they all have in common? The are FC BARCELONA players!

Latest news is that the Spanish Football Team has safely landed in South Africa.

SPAIN WORLD CUP TEAM | PREVIEW VIDEO TRAILER

Here is a video "mash-up" to support the SPANISH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM & its 23 team players who are about to fly off to South Africa with expected arrival tomorrow to begin the long road & attempt to become "eternal" if they can win the 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP. It will not be easy at all, the Spanish Team know it & go into the competition with humility & respect for all of their opponents. Spanish Football Sports Blog wishes the SPAIN WORLD CUP SQUAD lots of luck & I hope you - SFS reader - enjoy this video:

SPANISH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM | SPAIN 6 POLAND 0 | FRIENDLY GAME 2010 | VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

Source: Sp Ftball Sprts /
SPAIN put in a grand Football show with a 6-0 victory over POLAND in their last friendly game before flying off to South Africa for the World Cup. The SPANISH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM did play a less than perfect Poland who are in a transition stage with lots of U/21 players, but Spain did give sufficient positive vibrations with their passing & touch game coming together. Iniesta was absolutely outstanding before coming off for precautionary reasons as he felt a slight muscle pull that we hope is just that, a simple overworked leg muscle.

The other great news was Pique who was firm in defence , Casillas who did an excellent save to win some personal confidence, Xabi who was superb in midfield & FERNANDO TORRES who is back & even scored in the 75th min. But there was more good news with young Pedro & Jesus Navas showing that they too could easily have a place in this SPANISH WORLD CUP SQUAD team.

The scorers were DAVID VILLA ( 12th min) , DAVID SILVA ( 14th min) , XABI ALONSO ( 51st min) CESC FABREGAS ( 57th min) , FERNANDO TORRES ( 75th min) & PEDRO (80th min).

The Spanish World Cup Squad now goes back to Madrid from the Spanish city of Murcia to prepare themselves for the long flight to South Africa were they are expected to arrive next Friday. They go to South Africa as clear favourites & I hope (I am sure) with the humility necessary to see tonights fabulous result & performance as the first step in a long road that we all wish will take the Spanish National Team all the way in this World Cup. Good vibes tonight, very good vibrations indeed.

SPANISH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM WORLD CUP 2010 | SOUTH KOREA 0 - SPAIN 1 | FRIENDLY GAME

Source : Sp Ftball Sports /
Second friendly pre- WORLD CUP match for the SPANISH NATIONAL TEAM against a serious & World Cup participant SOUTH KOREA. Spain won 0-1 thanks to a fabulous power driver from JESUS NAVAS in the 86th min. Watch the VIDEO below of the winning goal:

A game with debuts, as with Barça goalkeeper Victor Valdes who came on in the 2ºhalf to take the place of Reina, Javi Martinez who started in the opening line-up & Fabregas back from his long 2 month injury. Match with positive & negative aspects as Coach Del Bosque fine tunes the squad with another friendly game against Poland next Tuesday to put the pieces together.

South Korea had their chances & were unlucky not to have scored but this game also served them as a benchmark & they too would have picked up some things to work on before flying off to South Africa.
